In an effort to run #drawsteel at the table more efficiently, I took my cheat sheets, and added every section that was referenced in that sheets to a 1/2 inch 3 ring binder. Sections are the first 8 pages of the class chapter, the test, combat, and negotiations chapters. That should do it🤞

New Goblin Points featuring @sammcgurran.bsky.social and @subharup-roy.bsky.social . Together they're running a crowdfunder for A Refugee's Guide to Nomas, a setting set in a psionic city, with a lava river for a sky, and districts in a constant power struggle.

Hey, I appreciate the shout out! Just for clarity, there are plenty of 3rd party Draw Steel creators getting loads of support. Our experiences with MCDM have been incredibly positive, and they don’t need to be promoting or endorsing products to be supportive of creators.

They don't have a newsletter and considering their perspective on emailing during a crowdfunder it seems unlikely.

But both Goblin Points and Dice Society shout out community projects, and Matt mentions those podcasts often as a way to follow Draw Steel news outside the Patreon or Discord.

Those with experience selling RPG assets online: advice?

Thinking of transfering a short adventure I made into a Draw Steel mini-module, providing a plot-web and custom art of all the NPCs... but while I want to keep costs low (5$ or so?), I have no idea where would be best to host the sales?

Draw Steel didn't really hook me to buy in earlier, but I absolutely love the passion Colville has here about his team's project and if I had a Freedombux grand to drop at the highest level I'd do so just to support it.

One of the most honest and direct creators out there.

No clue how representative The Delian Tomb is of other adventures the crew make, but I also appreciate the amount of swag the Director seems encouraged to give people. As a 5e DM, I always want to give cool stuff, but the actually cool stuff can wreck the balance SO hard. Hats off there, too.

Partner observed also (an observation I couldn't make as the director) that the game sidesteps the "OC generator" factor because while you'll have the ancestry/background/class picked at the start, growth feels very tied to what the group becomes and the swag you find. The "build porn" is reduced.

The little interactions between PC mechanics and the "pick who goes next" turn order does so much to sell Draw Steel for me.

A lot of the problem in other tactical fantasy combat games (for me) is that characters feel so silo'd off so you can zone out if it's not your turn and not miss a ton.
Every time someone says "nah I don't like tactical RPGs," I *want* to say "yeah but maybe that's because you haven't played Draw Steel?!"

Because we've *seen* that happen!

But I keep my mouth shut. People don't want to hear that stuff from me. :D
Draw Steel is *so* much fun! I don’t normally enjoy games that require a grid for combat, but the combat rules actually made it engaging and meaningful—no misses, no wasted turns. The party dynamic seems really interesting, too. We’re definitely playing again!
