Oh my god y'all I had not seen the rest of the Vanity Fair photos holy shit. Christopher Anderson deserves a medal.

Look at this. He left the LIGHT SWITCHES in the edited photos! These assholes look like their well-meaning mom took a picture of them on their first day in a grown-up job.

Trump’s approval is sliding fast, and it’s completely self-inflicted. Tariffs, deportations, and the One Big Ugly Bill are already backfiring. Tomorrow, Jay Kuo breaks down why recovery before the midterms looks unlikely. And yesterday, Todd Beeton examined the psychology driving MAGA’s politics.
This Week In The Big Picture
It’s not even been a year since Donald Trump took office for the second time, and already Americans are signaling, in poll after poll, that they’re just not that into him.

It is 2025. Why are people doing video calls in public spaces without headphones??? I would be mortified. The entitlement, ugh.

In 1972, the Nixon administration attempted to deport popular British musician John Lennon from the US.

Lennon was an outspoken critic of Nixon & the Vietnam War.

Lennon & atty Leon Wildes challenged his deportation & won.

Lennon received his green card in 1976.

The current Supreme Court has forfeited all legitimacy.

Democrats (and everyone) need to address that reality.

John Roberts > Roger Taney.

Court needs to expand. And have fixed terms—like *every* other supreme court in developed world. And have ethics rules, like all normal organizations.

I spoke to a full professor about my job offer negotiations. They were shocked that I negotiated at all and wasn't just grateful for the opportunity.

Immigration enforcement is usually thought of as a federal issue, but ICE's work is intertwined with state law in a number of ways. @aliciabannon.bsky.social examines recent state litigation WI, NY, and CA that will shape the relationship between ICE and the states & localities in which it operates.
State Challenges to Immigration Enforcement Practices

Most people in the U.S. immigration court system lack legal representation

Yet research shows that legal advice improves due process, fair outcomes and courtroom efficiency

Our issue brief outlines ways for NGOs & others to expand access to representation

I understand the financial need to graduate in 4 years...but I see so many students who take 5-6 classes, work multiple jobs (to afford said classes), and have familial responsibilities. Of course its going to be difficult to manage the time and the work.

She donated 11.5 MILLION DOLLARS to food equity and climate orgs, which Stephen Colbert announced to said billionaires.

My non-white friends' conversations this weekend. Talking about how terrifying it is to be seen as a "fuuhreignnerrr" in 2025.
This is why the inflatable costumes works so well -- it works the same way calling them "weird" or "creepy" did. It disrupts their narrative, and makes them seem pathetic rather than cool-and-cruel.
You need to see this:
