And to be clear, Medicaid pays for (some, very limited) healthcare. It does not pay people on Medicaid. Nobody is getting a handout on Medicaid; they are getting the opportunity to afford the antibiotics so that they don’t die from uncomplicated bacterial pneumonia in the United States in 2025
Medicaid is health insurance not a handout. And it’s quite limited. Republicans are very intentionally lying to try to trick people into thinking that Medicaid recipients are getting cash in the mail or something, which couldn’t be further from the truth. Everyone should be able to access healthcare

Occasional reminder that there’s no, “it’s too late, its over” for anthropogenic climate change. Every molecule of CO2 that doesn’t go into the atmosphere makes a difference. Preventing 0.1 degree of warming makes a difference. Every bit of climate resilience we build together makes a difference.
