When Renee Good said "I'm not mad at you" what the ICE goon heard was "I'm not scared of you."

That's what enraged him. The populace wasn't fully terrorized and cowed into submission yet, so he acted to make that happen.

Great piece by my Cato colleague. “Since July, immigration agents have shot at least six people behind the wheel of a vehicle. The same playbook is used each time: the agent says they “feared for their life” as a vehicle was “weaponized” against them. Juries should decide, but we tie their hands.
Opinion | Renee Good wasn’t the first person shot in her car by ICE. The justification followed a familiar script.
Mike Fox: The officer who shot and killed a woman in Minneapolis might never have to defend his actions before a judge or jury.

Idiosyncratic childish cabinet members who cannot rise to the gravity of any occasion or demonstrate the most remote professionalism seem to be running our nation right now, and it’s so dangerous that I’ve stopped using the descriptor “not serious people” because we must take them seriously.

For those keeping score, Bellingcat, The New York Times Visual Investigation Team, & Washington Post's Visual Forensic team have all published analysis showing the ICE shooter wasn't in the path of Renee Nicole Good’s vehicle when he shot her, contradicting statements by the President & his cronies

The same people who spent yesterday, and the past five years, insisting a Black police officer who shot an insurrectionist breaking into the Capitol should be prosecuted are today bending over backwards to defend an ICE agent who shot a woman in her car in cold blood.

Scum.

According to Kristi Noem, if you're a white suburban woman in a minivan, you are a potential domestic terrorist.

Let that sink in.

AOC: This has now become what we feared most about ICE for a long time—that it would be used as an anti-civilian force with no accountability. At the end of the day, what we saw today was a murder, and murders in cold blood need to be prosecuted.

I hate to break it to you, but heavily-armed government militias are roaming unchecked through US cities and shooting human rights observers dead in the streets. That's happening in our country.

Software named Tahoe is inaccessible and overcrowded? That tracks.
Apple's macOS Tahoe adds icons to every menu item, resulting in menus that are hard to use and go against the long-standing Macintosh Human Interface Guidelines (Niki Tonsky/tonsky.me)

I have watched Secretary of Education Linda McMahon’s irreverent, unhinged word salad of a public announcement “Grinch” ripoff, and please remember that poking fun at people in poverty, people just trying to land a useful, sustainable career, indicates you are unfit for leadership and inhumane too.

Well this really cuts to the heart of the matter, doesn't it? Why are we as a society putting so much stock in the words of people who are famous or connected, but who have far less experience, knowledge, or credentialing than career professionals? This is an education problem.
A heroin addict who writes bad porn poetry says eliminating the Hepatitis B vaccine will make kids healthier. Medical experts say it will kill thousands of innocent children. For busy parents, it can be hard to know who to believe.

The Department of Education announcement reveals significant ignorance and contempt for education itself.

Not understanding the world of work or the role education plays in the labor market is the most basic failure.

Based on competence and character, Linda McMahon should step down.

Today.
ICYMI Dept of Education will no longer considers these professional degrees:

Nursing
Public health
Social work
Physician assistant
Occupational therapy
Physical therapy
Audiology
Speech-language pathology
Social work
Counseling & therapy

Vaccines DO NOT cause autism - there is extensive research showing this. Resurrecting old, discredited, fraudulent work is shameful.

Vaccine-preventable illnesses are serious - this is going to cause real harms.

This is dangerous & disappointing.

Dept. of Ed is reclassifying all the female dominated professions (nurse, therapist, speech pathologist, PA) as not having “professional” degrees, which makes it harder for them to get educational loans.

Another FUCKED UP thing this admin is doing to attack women’s power.

Take that shit to court!
