Grading and googling hallucinated citations, as one does nowadays, and now that LLMs have been around for a while, I've discovered new horrors: hallucinated journals are now appearing in Google Scholar with dozens of citations bc so many people are citing these fake things

This is a really good illustration of how LLMs are random. Every next word (token) is predicted with weighted options. Then one is selected and the process repeats.
(This is a very tiny model and those are especially bad at facts, but fundamentally the same as large models.)

Had an idea last week to make a tool that shows what answers a model can give for a given prompt. Used this downtime day to explore the idea and the results are fun. This isn't sampling, it deterministically enumerates the search space. Prompt was: "In what year was Barack Obama born?"

There were so many comments comparing Highguard to Concord and like, Concord at least seemed visually interesting, but not cohesive. Highguard is much more like these examples (boring AND not cohesive) to which I'll add Epic Games' Paragon
