I think this nails it.
Those trying to understand the tariffs as economic policy are dangerously naive.

No, the tariffs are a tool to collapse our democracy. A means to compel loyalty from every business that will need to petition Trump for relief.

U.S. national-security leaders included me in a group chat about upcoming military strikes in Yemen. I didn’t think it could be real. Then the bombs started falling.

Hugely insightful article.
Politics as we’ve known them, for 150 years, are over. Dead and buried.
Killed with genius and ruthlessness by those with so much 💰💰💰💰beguiling those with so little 💰in comparison.
The siren call of fascism strikes again
Quite simply THE BEST article I've read on the rise of the populist far-right and the urgent need for progressives to wake up to the new realities. I can't recommend it highly enough.
"That progressives have failed to grasp how utterly tech has changed everything in our political culture – esp. given revelations of the role of psychological profiling through social media – is exploited by the right as a new ‘Wild West’. Elon Musk, is the most logical next step in this trajectory"

Agreed.
The process of extricating ourselves from the US will take a long time and require determination and resilience - and a lot of investment.
But it needs to happen if we really want to be a sovereign (I hate the way that word has been hijacked) nation and not just a satellite state of the US.
