Why decline all these chances to defend feminism? Because to participate would be accepting the premise that our rights and humanity are up for debate in the first place.

Once you’ve conceded that it’s reasonable to ask whether women’s equality was a mistake, you’ve already lost.

I think it really depends on where you are, both the actual walls (insulation!) or just outside temp. I was just in NYC and there was no temp warm enough. Normally, I'm in WA state and the thermostat lives at 62 in the winter and I toss on a sweatshirt or use a heated blanket if it feels chilly.

It's an invisible need… an invisible center… helping invisible people. Meanwhile, I’m haunted by the invisible impact of the insatiable greed that’s so widespread (and sadly, celebrated) in our multi-millionaire and billionaire class.

an actual living nightmare
It happened to us in PDX. My wife managed to trap it in our bathroom, and we had a shit covered rat running around our bathroom for an hour until I could get home and murder it.

Please do!

If you want books to keep existing you have to keep buying books.

Just sounds like you need some more free time to read though 😀.

It can! In my case I have a mastoid bone infection which can uh...kill you. So the fact that my ENT has been downplaying over a year of pain and complaints and feeling like crap has been frustrating enough but now I have an MRI showing the damn infection and like um uh er....come on!

I keep re-reading books I've read before but not touching the piles of unread books. But I'll keep buying them, I see it as contributing to the arts in a time we desperately need them.

Ditto! I'm also aware that I'm very much not a native because I'm pale af and has 0 true native ancestry.

I can trace my ancestry back to the Mayflower, the founder of Rhode Island, and at least 2 founding fathers. Oh and my great grandparents who immigrated in the 20th century. Because um, yeah that's how ancestry works if you can trace far enough back.

I went in through JFK and LAX, so they may just suck. Well okay they do suck, but for more reasons than just general existence.

And that was international btw. In fact I've only had to request assistance for international trips because I have a bad habit of badly injuring my back in Europe (it's been more than once).

Hasn't been my experience when flying and receiving assistance. Yes I went to a different line, but I had to go through more screening because I guess maybe I was trying to use my infirmity to smuggle, who knows. And security would be awful, pat down required cause I couldn't walk for the detector

Seriously! And just because someone looks young doesn't mean shit either. The dirty looks I've gotten while being wheeled around were horrible. Like it wasn't awkward to begin with.

Also, tip your assister! That's sometimes a good portion of their income sadly.

You see someone come on on a chair and then get up and walk off, it doesn’t mean shit. You don’t know what they’re dealing with and why they did that.

Truly mind your own business.

I've had to do this. I never skipped a line, sometimes I waited even longer. And you de-plane last. It does mean you're not walking half a mile or more to your gate though. Which is kind of the point.
December 19, 2025 at 7:28 AM
Barely. My phone didn't. Really really really hoping lost and found has it tomorrow. Took an hour to get off the plane because the jetbridge didn't work and they had to tow us to another gate. 8+ hours not being able to move from my seat. Thank goodness for taxis!
