As I keep saying, we have a tremendous undiagnosed narcissism problem in this country. Our individualist, pull-yourself-up-by-your bootstraps mentality has evolved into outright pathological self-importance for some, and it's killing people.
And to @jamellebouie.net's original point, if they are wishing illness or death on others, it's because the illness and death of people who've made what they see as "bad choices" validates their belief in survival-of-the-fittest and proves that they're among the "fit" who deserve to survive.

One thing I'd like NO ONE to forget, with Patrick Brown in the headlines right now:
Two women accused him of sexual misconduct, which CTV News reported. He "sued" and settled for ZERO dollars.
CTV only had to correct an element of ONE of the allegations.
So yeah. "Interference" or not, he sucks.

The echo chamber criticism is bizarre. Anyone can join Bluesky. Anyone can block anyone. You can create whatever weird little echo chamber your little heart desires. X was an echo chamber too, it was just forced on everyone by the algorithm.

When a commercial space is both big and expensive, the tenants tend to be deep-pocketed corporations. So instead of an independent perfumer, you get Sephora. Instead of an brand selling niche workwear, you get J. Crew. This leads to homogenization in fashion (and culture).

The effectiveness of propaganda. A friend who is an MD who I have always thought of as evidence based said she isn’t going to get any more RNA based vaccines. She has not had a negative vaccine reaction and she can’t really put into words why she doesn’t trust them.
