Tell me again about how Zohran Mamdani is the big threat to Jewish thriving in the US today.

One of the biggest pieces of racist shit from high school was a raging dipshits who spent his career in the Coast Guard. This tracks.
Exclusive: The U.S. Coast Guard will no longer classify the swastika, nooses and the Confederate flag as hate symbols.

The military service drafted a new policy that classifies them as “potentially divisive.”

This is defeatist and not true. The root of this is the evil in the GOP. The Dems fumble and screw up all the time and many need to be primaried. But this isn’t a Dem created insurance increase.
The second most annoying thing is how all of the gloating Republican voters are exactly 6 weeks away from freaking out that their health insurance just tripled "because of the Democrats!"

They'll be 100% right for once, by the way.

Im curious if anyone has a chart or something that shows how much benefit people will lose based on income and family size. Many of us likely know people about to lose at least a month of SNAP benefits. They are gonna need support.
1 in 8 Americans rely on SNAP…

Trust me, most of us saw the Tea Party for what it really was.

“Not to doom but this is suboptimal.” Look I get the insinuation - but this doom with no analysis is playing into the hands of this administration. And when you break it down, this actually doesn’t seem suboptimal. It may actually be fine.
So dominion voting got sold, look at this fascinating statement from their new owner (not to doom but this is, uh, suboptimal). www.dominionvoting.com

We aren’t Russia. He’s not Orbán and we aren’t Hungry. This shits not popular. They are weak. We just have to show unity and strength.
Donald Trump is trying to create a police state. In this country. In America. Fuck that. Trump is trying to turn America into a police state. Most Americans will not accept that. Most Americans will not live in a police state. No fucking way.

Some perspective: The ACA part of the shutdown fight is a little less than 0.1% of GDP.
Or ~0.5% of the federal budget.
It's in same ballpark as cost of Trump's estate tax cut.
It's much less than Elon Musk's potential $1 trillion compensation package.

I don’t know why this isn’t obvious to people. Rage about the harm done, yeah! And weep if you need to weep. But to believe these people will win in the end is just self-harm, AND lazy to boot.
there’s just zero chance this freak will beat us.

never give up hope, because we are up against the biggest fucking losers on earth
Everyone is trying to have a normal Saturday night and the president's top advisor is on X announcing that civil war is necessary

Thats the thing. At some point, our energy is better spent planning for how we reverse this.
I find I can’t muster a proper response to either the Tylenol madness or the U.N. appearance. At some point it is just too ridiculous. It would feel insane to offer sane commentary.
September 24, 2025 at 12:44 AM
But it’s two points. 1. Fine. Good job following norms. 2. This shit should have been all over the news. He should have been linked to Trump and the admin should have fun with it. Total failure to recognize the risk to our nation. Weak.

This is where I know I lean towards being a moderate. You have to proportionately punish bad behavior and evil doing regardless of who is doing it. Coddling it only allows it to keep wedging its way back in until suddenly the bad over powers the good/neutral.
I've a thought I can't quite articulate, but it's something like: how do you rebuild the system when this regime falls- as it will, eventually - when the thing you need to rebuild is adherence to law, the very adherence to which will prevent you from fixing the things these people broke.
September 19, 2025 at 1:37 AM
I mean, honestly, now we have to actually wonder if those people yelling were right all along…because the regime went ahead and did what you feared they would. They can now take away our rights because they had the cover of law back when the law was a thing.
For years people have been yelling at me about how the FCC has to get those crooks at Fox off the air and that there’s no risks of such power being abused or used by people they don‘t like because that’s slippery slope nonsense.

This is where the Never Trumper conservatives always get it wrong. Look - your current viewpoint is great. But just like Tom Nichols does, you miss many of us saw where your party was headed under Bush 2.0. You still act like we were wrong or alarmist. Kilmeade deserves scorn and to be banished
Brian Kilmeade deserves praise for his apology.
Brian Kilmeade apologized for his comments about homeless people getting lethal injections this morning on Fox & Friends, saying "so many homeless people deserve our empathy and compassion."

Brilliant.
Here's a free policy idea for Dems: take DHS' entire budget, give it to the IRS, and have them doing no-knock raids in major cities' high-rise penthouses. Throw some guys in nice suits into unmarked vans instead of day laborers and their kids
August 21, 2025 at 3:15 AM
And I have to say - my son doesn’t tolerate of this crap. He reports people. He calls them out. It’s not all kids this age and it just takes stamina to push it back down.
Conversely, I had dinner with a bunch of professors the other day and I don't think the right is prepared for the radicalization of formerly centrist types against them

I think about this issue a lot. Cops. ICE. The Military.
You guys.

I have a great idea.

Let's sign up to become ICE agents.

And then, you know

“When U.S.-supported soup kitchens were forced to close, babies starved quietly, their mothers said, while older siblings died begging for food.”

The Trump administration’s cuts to USAID had an immediate and deadly impact in war-ravaged Sudan, according to civilians, doctors and aid officials.

It’s really easy to fall down this trap door. I’ve watch my professional colleagues do this on a fairly wide scale where I find myself needing to educate expertise professionals on what used to be basic principles people knew and knew well.
We're living through the Who Cares Era, where completely disposable things are shoddily produced for people to mostly ignore, while the government stomps its uncaring boot on our necks. But there's an easy way to fight back: Care.
