Logic is dead. Long live the algorithm.

Pens, Steelers, vidya games, dachshund dad, random other shit. ThePeoplesFeral from the app that shall not be named.
This angers me the most about Democrats. I'd bet lots of money that once they return to power in Congress (assuming they do) that they won't do anything to prevent this from happening again. They'll just go back to the status quo and yell, "mission accomplished!" and it pisses me the fuck off.

Vaccines can save lives. But only when used.
Mickey Lee, a contestant on the latest season of the television show “Big Brother,” who was known for her vibrant personality and bold strategic moves to survive the game, died on Thursday. She was 35.

GOP operatives Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman, convicted election fraudsters, were paid $960,000 in the second quarter to secure a pardon for a former nursing-home operator who defrauded the government of $38 million. Trump pardoned the man, Joseph Schwartz, last month.

An enraging trend right now, from CBS to the CDC, of people actively undermining institutions, then taking the reins of those institutions and claiming they need to rebuild the trust they helped destroy. (Also, people already trusted 60 Minutes.) bsky.app/profile/just...
Bari Weiss just sent this Christmas Eve email to the CBS News staff about "building trust," which includes her tripling down on spiking the CECOT piece "to make sure it's comprehensive and fair."

One CBS staffer tells me: "She really has no idea how insulting she comes across."

This should be campaigned on.
Restoring Bivens rights: one bill "would allow citizens to sue for damages resulting from constitutional violations committed by federal officers," while the other "would create a cause of action against federal law enforcement agencies and police depts for constitutional violations."
These congressmen want to give you the right to sue federal law enforcement for violating your rights
The proposed bills aim to codify a 1971 Supreme Court ruling that allowed individuals to sue the feds for Fourth Amendment violations.

Meanwhile, billionaires will be able to continue doing whatever the fuck they want with their worst behavior.
Your daily reminder from the oligarch currently buying all the media for more minority control.

Because intimidation as well as manipulation is how fascism delivers it.

Thank you @stephenking.bsky.social for such a great read.

This would be a 10/10 scandal with any other administration.
AAP learned this week that seven grants to AAP under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services are being terminated. The sudden withdrawal of these funds will directly impact and potentially harm infants, children, youth, and their families.

Finland has their own version of Chuck Schumer (unfortunately for them).
And as we have had to learn, the Coalition party leader and our prime minister Petteri Orpo once again shows all the leadership skills of a wet mitten.

He only even commented the issue only after pressed, and then half-heartedly.

Exactly as in the previous scandals caused by the radical right.

One way that the reaction to Rob Reiner's murder mirrors Charlie Kirk's is that the best way to eulogize each of them is to quote their words, and in both cases, doing so pisses off conservatives.
Rob Reiner: “Silence in the face of authoritarianism is complicity. Speaking out is a patriotic act. Democracy doesn’t defend itself. It requires participation, vigilance, and courage from ordinary people."
