The podcast is honestly the best I’ve ever listened to. It is like a ten part spy thriller; only not fiction, but real life, with British voters the victims, and too many British politicians choosing to turn a blind eye. Each episode is better than the last, devastating in conclusions. MUST HEAR.
I only recently listened to this extraordinary 10 part podcast - Sergei and the Westminster Spy Ring by @peterjukes.bsky.social and @carolecadwalla.bsky.social . It’s gripping, chilling, and deeply disturbing. The facts of Russian intrusion into UK politics laid bare, in horrifying fashion.
Rory Stewart and Alistair Campbell @alastaircampbell2.bsky.social spell out what needs to happen - the same demand we’ve made for years.

We need a real, independent inquiry 🧵

Lindsay de Wal is was also the first humanist to lead a pastoral care department in the NHS. She spoke to us about listening to patients in need of support, and providing somebody like-minded to speak to during some of life’s most difficult moments. A true trailblazer!

I’m old enough to remember a time we still realised monopolies were bad, actually.
Fewer people owning literally everything is bad. It's so obvious that most dystopias didn't even bother covering it.

Starmer needs to find the courage to follow his arguments about the failures and costs of Brexit to their logical conclusion. His recent foreign policy speech fell short by continuing to gloss over hard truths, and pretend Britain can keep muddling through.

The extreme ideologues who wrote this have very limited capacity (as illustrated by the fiasco over the 28-point Ukraine plan) and do not have control of the wider national security infrastracture.

So it's all more a symptom of US institutional chaos than something that will have immediate affect.

Though it's a very alarming document I also think it highlights the widening splits within the GOP that will get more profound as Trump loses control.

Yes, it's eager. Yes, it's censorious. But it has the very considerable advantage of not being fascist.

It’s always only ever about the money.
FIFA, soccer’s historically corrupt governing body, will name the winner of its first-ever “FIFA Peace Prize" today. Trump is widely expected to win, showing the moral vacuum of all concerned. A legitimate organization would move the World Cup out of the U.S. because of the abuse of immigrants.

As billions of fans around the world tune in to watch the World Cup draw on Friday, they’ll also have the opportunity to watch FIFA president Gianni Infantino present a new, somewhat puzzling, award.

There are many positives that take root when you plant trees. Woodlands help our health and wellbeing, enhance biodiversity and improve water and air quality. We can also see economic benefits from the green jobs it supports and creates.
