something very important for Dems to realize is that the tech overlords are not people you can win back by promising a lighter touch and saying a few nice things

they’ve gotten a taste of mask-off fascism and they are not going back, they don’t want to play nice with the peons anymore
There’s a funny Politico story showing that the latest polling on AI shows 80-20 in favor of heavy regulations, an absolute slam dunk platform, but Dems are worried about not winning back mask-off tech CEO donors

I also confirmed there are now 332.

It is EXHAUSTING not only being made responsible for coming up with new kinds of assignments for our students; it's also tedious reading op-eds that suggest the core problem is a crisis in teaching. But, as Chris and I lay out here, this isn't a crisis in teaching; it's an attack on learning.

The lecturer in question is our colleague in children’s literature studies. She is a brilliant scholar and from all accounts a gifted teacher.

This ruling is infuriating… at the end of the day, it is our students’ education that will suffer.
Texas A&M University will not reinstate a lecturer who was fired after a video of her teaching about gender identity in a children’s literature class went viral, despite a faculty appeals panel unanimously concluding that her dismissal was not justified.

A vice chancellor upheld the firing of Melissa McCoul, seen in a viral video being confronted by a student on her gender identity teachings, saying the termination was done with “good cause.”

Bari Weiss claims she killed the CBS CECOT story because it lacked Trump’s perspective.

1. That’s a lie. Trump has publicly commented supporting CECOT.
2. Refusing to comment is their choice. They are no victim.
3. Killing a story to protect power is State Run Media.

Drop CBS permanently.

This statement is a sick joke. US foreign policy is a sick joke, being implemented by enemies of truth, freedom & democracy - people driven by personal greed & the opportunity to exploit the suffering of others by trading US power and prestige for death & business opportunities.

FYI, if you're outside the US, you can come here and just collect $3,000
Kristi Noem makes an announcement on Fox & Friends: "We are saying that if you voluntarily want to go home now to your country, if you're in the US illegally, we'll give you $3,000 through the holidays to send you home. We'll buy you a ticket, give you $3,000 to go home."

If you think switching which corporate owned legacy media outlet you consume is the solution, you don't really understand how deep the problem is. It's not just ABS, CBS, WaPo or the LA Times. It's the system in which they work.

The only solution is to support pro-democracy independent media.

What a shameful question.

First, it is not what Congress "asked for." It is what a federal statute REQUIRES.

Second, WTF does "spirit but not intent" even mean?

CBS bent a knee and paid Trump, it has a new owner who wants to please Trump, and sadly this is the result.
BRENNAN: This isn't everything you asked for just yet, but would you acknowledge that they are complying with the spirit if not the intent of your law?

MASSIE: No. They're flouting the spirit and the letter of the law. It's very troubling the posture that they've taken.
