I know it's been said before and perhaps overused but...WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. @#$!??!!!
The levels of incompetence, shamelessness, and malevolence are off the charts here.
How is it possible that Kristi Noem still has this job. Imagine if you’re a family member or a shipmate of this guardsman.

As an amateur physics-nerd, this piece really spoke to me. The article argues that organizations exist in a "Schrödinger's cat" paradox where they are simultaneously secure and compromised until they actively observe their security state through detection and monitoring.
Schrödinger's cat and the enterprise security paradox
If you haven’t really looked, your company is both secure and hacked at the same time — and dashboards alone won’t tell you which.

The order does not give the federal government a deadline for restoring the President's House site.

After nearly a decade (at least), I am forced to cancel my @washingtonpost.com subscription. I can't, in good conscience, continue supporting the Post under its current leadership. As a news junkie, it pains me to end my relationship with this storied outlet but these are the times we live in. #sigh

OMG, the alt text for the second photo is "Her face now says 'so this is how American leadership ends: Not with a bang, but the constant droning of a man who invited Jeffrey Goldberg to his war-planning group chat.'"

The US is truly now the laughingstock of the world and Trump made it so.

Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. It’s always a matter of will not resources.

If our officers can’t withstand MIT, how are they going to handle an actual war?

(They *can* though)
Hegseth to US military: if you get into MIT, we won't let you attend because of the risk that you will be exposed to ideas hostile to MAGA when you study there.

Authoritarian says what?
Kristi Noem: "When it gets to Election Day, we've been proactive to make sure we have the right people voting, electing the right leaders to lead this country."

A 1987 Proposal Could Help Hold ICE to Account for Constitutional Violations
A proposal in a 1987 law review article could address a gap that makes it all but impossible to sue federal officials for violating the Constitution.

I'm not sure I've ever seen the phrase "pound sand" in a judicial order before.
The chief judge in DC federal court just ordered the Trump administration to "facilitate" the return back to the USA for any of the willing 137 Venezuelans it improperly sent to the Salvadoran gulag last year.

The feds have *a month* to get this going.

Can they declare war? Can they order a nuclear strike? Can they speak for the President in his diplomatic communications with foreign leaders?
