By way of introduction, I firmly believe everyone deserves to have their needs met simply because they exist. None of us chose to be here.

Please call me out if I ever fail to live up to this belief.
Yup, even as kids, they're just Short People. Treat them that way! My 20-somethings are awesome, as are our relationships.
as a person with adult children who still speak to me, have you tried treating your kids like people rather than property?

There’s a prayer in the Episcopal Church which goes in part: “My friends, life is short
and we do not have much time
to gladden the hearts
of those who travel with us,
so be swift to love
and make haste to be kind.”
I really like this sentiment.

(I don't have TikTok, this video worked in my browser.)

My parents were both from Wisconsin. I hear my Dad & Grampa in his cadence. This is white-hot fury.

Had a great idea, hear me out: when the Democratic candidates have their primary debates, I want them all fitted with shock collars. And viewers can push a button to indicate if they agree w/ what a candidate says.

Shall we call it the MAHA Paradox?
NEW: A Harvard study found that the children of women who contracted COVID-19 while pregnant may be at an increased risk for autism and other neurodevelopmental diagnoses, raising new concerns about the CDC’s decision to stop recommending the vaccine to pregnant women.

It's a great cosmic joke that neurodivergence both runs in families and gets diagnosed based on parent reports. I was diagnosed at 30 because a man who has eaten potatoes every day for 57 years and a woman who collects loose buttons decided I was a perfectly normal child.

OK, I'm going to try to focus on the positive today. Join in if you like!

The cashmere sweater I claimed from my dad's closet after he passed developed a hole. I didn't want to throw it away, so I tried my hand at embroidery. Did I do a good job? No! But it's a happy little daisy anyway.

#Gerrymandered and fired up? Fight back—run for office, even when the map is rigged. Can’t Win Victory Fund helps “can’tidates” in impossible districts make noise, grow the vote for up-ballot races and push for fair maps—and yes, we make it fun.

Blue cities should tear up the roads in front of ICE facilities and then start decades of community engagement and input sessions to rebuild them. Let's harness our core competencies.

Taken just a few minutes ago outside the ICE facility in Portland that Trump claims is under siege. My message to Donald Trump is this: we don’t need you here. Stay the hell out of our city.

Post a movie you like with a terrible rotten tomatoes score.

I know, I know. But it had Tim Minchin as Friar Tuck and I will watch anything he's in and enjoy it out of spite if nothing else.

We all know ‘tragedy’ comes from Greek.

‘tragos’ = goat

‘aeidein’ = to sing

So ‘tragedy’ originally meant “goat song.”

Not to be confused with the GOAT song, which is probably “Fast Car” by Tracy Chapman.

Down to 10 now! (Just picked up a gorgeous labradorite piece; figured it was my last chance before the idiotic tariffs.)
Right now there's 14 different pendants listed in the shop - if I can clear them out it'll be a miracle, and might just keep me on my feet while I can find some kind of work.

(I'm very limited by disability, but I'm doing everything I can.

...I was right about my birthday being jinxed though.)

In case there's still folks buying the myth that cats are independent and not needy:

My fitness tracker just told me I met my step goal. While I'm lying in bed. Petting my very insistent furball.

In my former industry (contracting) it's said that safety regs. are "written in blood".

Public health mandates are written in little tiny coffins.
