This is kind of true of any mayor—a lot of how the city is and functions is pretty resilient; the Adams admin is a mess but schools are open and the trash gets picked up—but also, Zohran’s not a revolutionary? A fare-free bus pilot is a lot of steps away from overthrowing capitalism
For better or worse, a Mamdani administration that accomplishes 100% of its goals is going to look and feel orders of magnitude more like NYC ten years ago than Havana ‘68 in most reality-based ways
kind of funny that americans think that once you become mayor, you can just enact sharia law. like zero understanding of the legislative process. just raise your hand and say "ok it's sharia time now"
