Diversity IS self-interest. Monoculture is vulnerable to changes in resources or competitive strategy while diversity already contains the seeds of adaptive response.

The only way to stop people from seeing this is to blinker them into a relentless focus on the short term.

The party whip has One Job.

I'd vote for the Yankees before I'd vote for @whipkclark.bsky.social again. I'd vote for eternal gas line maintenance on our street, for closing every Dunks, for leaving Mount Auburn detoured forever, for a Red Line fail when I'm late for an appointment.

Had the three Dems who voted for this held the line and voted no, they could have blocked it.

This framing is dishonest. It was a bipartisan bill. Enough Republicans actually defected and voted no to kill the bill. Three Democrats crossed over to save it.

They should be stripped of their committee assignments and thrown out of the party, quite frankly.
Today House Republicans voted 216-211 to pass MTG’s bill to criminalize gender-affirming care for minors nationwide, marking the first time a national ban on care for trans youth has reached — and passed — the House floor.

Every trans person and ally must boycott voting not only for these three Democrats, but any other House Democrats from the states (Texas, North Carolina) who don't condemn and disavow Cuellar, Gonzalez, and Davis for this sickening betrayal. There is no space in the tent for genocidal policies.
Three Democrats (Cuellar, Gonzalez, and Davis) joined the Republicans to pass Marjorie Taylor Greene's federal ban on gender affirming care through the House of Representatives.

It is repugnant that the federal government won't give people health care, but it will TAKE IT AWAY from trans people.

Spotify is garbage on every count: Its treatment of artists, its ICE advertising, the CEO's investment in military AI, its leading role in the commodification and AI slopification of music, its terrible audio quality—you name it.

More people should read David Walker's Appeal because it illustrates how writing can in fact shape history.
On this day in 1830, North Carolina passed laws that criminalized teaching enslaved Black people to read and that made the repeated dissemination of anti-slavery pamphlets punishable by death.

What are your favorite indie publications? Who are some of your favorite freelance and indie reporters and commentators?

Can we make this a thing?

Democrats at every level of power could simply repeat "he must resign" over and over and over again. It's what the GOP would do if the situation were reversed. Further erode his power by pushing him to lash out more.
