I usually get questions this time of year asking if there is a charity or cause that I support. Jules has been a supporter of Rates & Barrels for years, and can definitely use a hand if you can help. 👇

World Series games used to start at 8:35 Eastern. Game 6 of the 1992 Series began at 8:44 local time, even though both teams (ATL-TOR) are Eastern. (And at 4 hours, it ended close to 1AM)

That changed in 1993, when the now-standard 8 Eastern/5 Pacific became the norm. Do you know who you can thank?

Never happened in the World Series. Arraez vs Ohtani last playoffs happened, but never in World Series.
Have two teams ever both led off their DH in a World Series game before?

Every Blue Jay is swinging harder in the 2nd half than the 1st other than Andrés Giménez, who is swinging harder in the postseason than he did in the 2nd half. It's nice to start with bat-to-ball & add intent like that.

On how Vladito & the Jays are swinging harder www.nytimes.com/athletic/674...
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. and the Blue Jays are swinging harder — and hitting better
Swinging harder does not always mean more success, but it does when hitters do it the right way. Guerrero and the Jays are getting it right.

The Mariners had 25 instances where an RP was seeing a hitter for the 3rd time in a series, including when Bazardo saw Springer for the 3rd time in the ALCS.

The Dodgers have had 1.

Not every pitcher has to have a comp of course, but I can’t figure one out for Bryan Woo. Two fastballs that are probably better than his two sliders, with command as his best feature? Who does that remind you of?

@enosarris.bsky.social @dvr.bsky.social am I hallucinating or last week when you discussed not moving Sho off of leadoff did Eno say “you can’t cause you never know when he’ll go 3-3 with 3 homers”? That’s quite a call and I think I didn’t make it up like Derek’s fan falling from the stands 😂
