This (and all our “BRT’s”) should be light rail trains or streetcars at the very least.
The Twin Cities' newest bus rapid transit line launches this weekend, with the E Line running between Southdale Center in Edina and the University of Minnesota.

It's the third BRT line Metro Transit has launched this year.
So long, Metro Transit Route 6; Hello, E Line, Metro Transit's new rapid bus line
The E Line will be the agency’s third such line to open this year.

This is an example of the “opposite extreme” to “Donald Trump’s extremism” that Jacob Frey warned us was wrong to engage in and told us he does not support.

Bernadette Hornig, of the Hornig Hornigs, made the mistake of referencing the man in the front row which only made him react harder. You can't encourage this type of behavior by giving it attention.

It's that giving time of year again, so this is a reminder that no matter how they try to dress it up, the Salvation Army is not a charity.

covid should have lead to revolution in clean, fresh air standards, not necessarily because it’s a singular threat, but because it led to us understanding for the first time the true nature of aerosol spread of infective pathogens. this would be true even if covid stopped existing

Minneapolis - who’s ready for some kick ass tunnel parties?!? That’s right, Tunnel. Parties.
CON: we have to go to Edina
PRO: the new E Line BRT makes that super easy.

My god, he worse every day. Silence on this would e been better.
We welcome support in investigating and prosecuting crime. But pulling a PR stunt and indiscriminately targeting immigrants is not a real solution to a problem.

This They Might Be Giants TONIGHT SHOW performance of "Birdhouse In Your Soul" from 1990 remains firmly lodged in my noggin thanks to the Tonight Show Band's full commitment and Doc Severinsen's incredible trumpeting... It took an already great song and made it transcendent.

This would have been REALLY NICE today.

Municipal sidewalk snow clearing in Minneapolis (and St Paul) NOW.
I know that many other cities don’t plow their sidewalks, leaving it up to property owners. This is completely crazy to me.

Our sidewalk plows look like this and they do a pretty good job.

This Day in Labor History: November 22, 1909. Approximately 20,000 garment workers in New York City went on strike against the horrendous conditions of their sweatshops. This strike, known as the Uprising of the 20,000, was the largest strike led by women in American history to that time!!!

What does “AI can develop new pharmaceuticals” mean?
No it can’t. It can’t do that.
Yeah, sure, “AI can do bench testing of new drugs” “AI should run clinical trials, it could save so much money!” No it can’t.
It's crazy that there are ways AI can make society better (developing new pharmaceuticals, for example)...but none of them are what is being hyped by the tech community

With Black Friday approaching, there will inevitably be well-intentioned talk that these deals are only possible because workers are denied a livable wage.

Don't buy into this. It's not low prices vs. fair pay. It's the demand for ever-higher profits and shareholder returns that forces deprivation.

Stop expecting that the former Ntnl Grd Command Sgt Mjr (retired) that we elected governor is ever going to be on our side w/r/T these ICE raids. His reverence for the National Guard extends to all uniformed armed agents of the state. Including State Patrol, police, and ICE.
