Dude was taking a right-wing troll to task and he dropped that poetic epithet. I’m a cat owner. I assume it means what it sounds like.

Dunno man, seems a little misleading to write an article about Trump describing activity in Portland and Chicago as “insurrection” with a 33 year old photo of a burning donut shop taken in the 1992 LA Riots (sans caption explaining that) as the header on all your posts about it.

My mom died about a month after Robin Williams, and she was in a similar life stage. I thank my lucky stars that, as a singer, she didn’t reach that level of visibility. The way her being a performer attracted zero-boundary vampires at the small-pond level was gross enough. I can’t imagine THIS.

The Aurora was a V8. The point is that today‘s pavement princesses are not only heavy and inefficient, they’re so high-profile, bloated, and unwieldy as to make your Lincoln look like a Tonka. There are safety considerations beyond weight and emissions.

This is good —the Mayor of Yellowknife NWT in Canada’s far north weighs in on “Car Bloat” (truck bloat actually) and its many big costs & consequences (thanks @davidzipper.bsky.social for heads-up). And like most who dare tell the truth about that, he’s taking flack.

Yes and no. During undergrad I drove a 1995 Oldsmobile Aurora, which (as a friend put it) “rode like a couch.” That model broke the crash-testing equipment with its weight. Mileage was atrocious.

On the other hand, it still had decent sightlines and a better turning radius than these cosplay tanks.

A sex-blind admissions policy at selective universities will not go the way that the Trump administration thinks it will.

Under the compact, a mix of nine public and private universities would receive favorable terms for government aid if they agreed to conditions like banning consideration of race or sex in hiring and admissions, capping international undergraduate enrollment, requiring that applicants pass admissions examinations and suppressing grade inflation. Universities with large endowments would be asked to waive tuition for students interested in the hard sciences.
