I am sad to see this go. RedUmbrella was the only hosting I have been aware of that is not only SW friendly but also SW protectionist in this post-SESTA/FOSTA internet. I understand the decision, but now I don’t know what hosting to recommend anymore….
In addition to this, I have overhauled and made big changes to Red Umbrella. I am going to be sunsetting the hosting leg. No new accounts will be created, and one year from the last expiry there will no longer be hosting. It will now be the Red Umbrella House of Design.

This is not based on any research or studies other than personal observations, but regular use of LLMs seems to have the same effect on critical thinking as 2-3 beers. Like, it won't kill you, but I don't trust you to drive or operate machinery

GenAI cannot summarise anything because it cannot analyse anything because there is no intelligence there. This entire premise starts with a lie and the deceit builds from there.
The “AI” has not read the book. Even if the book was in its training data, it has just absorbed it as a set of statistics. It will juggle you a “summary” that might or might not relate to the conclusions of the actual text. The only way you’ll know is to read it yourself.
This is one of the reasons I remain horrified by seeing @historians.org suggest "ways to use gAI" that included this:
