I share Dusty’s view that polarization (i.e., differing political views) are not the problem. The problem is that we’re arguing based on completely different realities shaped by the information spaces we inhabit.

the other day a friend of mine texted me that she was trapped in a car with another observer by seven armed ice agents who demanded they unlock the doors, intending to spray or arrest them. they used the full name of the observer who owned the car to intimidate them.

One theory I have is that competence, self-control, responsibility, and expertise have all been feminized, leaving “masculinity” with the realm of impulsivity and petulance. So the divide is not really between “femininity” and “masculinity” so much as between adulthood and childishness.
Everything else aside, the idea that this is a model for many men of *masculinity* is so wild. This? This is "manly"? This is how people think it's cool to act?

I grew up in a conservative home in a remote conservative community. I get and respect the political viewpoint even though it’s not mine. We aren’t in an age of liberal v conservative. This explains really well how we devolved into whatever mess you want to label the Conservative Party.

Rn taxi squad is broken (2024 rookies can be added until March 10 since they're considered rookies until then). Another option is give the ability to lock taxi squad. Thanks
