Happy birthday, Jello Biafra. I had dinner with him a couple of times when I lived in SF, but I first met him at a party at Survival Research Laboratory's warehouse. We were all scarfing down the good food and when I shook his hand, it was covered in roast corn. We just laughed.

There is nothing relevant you could say about Omelas that hasn't been said already in the past 50+ years. I think SFF keeps coming back to it over and over because it's easier to play mental rescue drills for an imaginary child than confront the suffering of real children that fuels this society.
