This is SUPER exciting. My dad had this pond built at my childhood home in NW PA 5 years ago...

It appears a #beaver has moved in! Dad, who passed Sept. 6, would have been SO thrilled at this development! My sis just put camera traps up to see if we can get images. 🤞

A small tree that was taken down near the woods, with gnaw marks along it, and lots of beaver "saw dust" and "chips" in the grass!

This appears to the entrance to the beaver's hidey hole/house -- and in this image, a freshly chewed log/stick appers!

Also, I will defend with my life pronouncing Couer d'Alene the way the locals do because ultimately it's a French-derived place name in a primarily English-speaking state and they can pronounce it however they see fit. If you come in all "but in French it should be..." you're e the one being a dick

Also, she said she'd "prefer I not talk to my sister" (who lives with her) because she'd "been a raging bitch all day"

By which she meant, my sister spent all morning trying to convince her to go to the hospital and was exacerbated and frustrated by the time she finally agreed.

People once again need to internalize that "generative AI" is a small subset of machine learning, that machine learning is a critical tool that you cannot run a site without past a certain volume Bluesky has long since exceeded, and that it is FAR more reliable than user reporting.

it's weird being in a sports fandom instead of a fandom fandom. i saw someone say there was "discourse around shaidorov's jump layout" but it turned out to be about whether his signature jump combination was the best way to maximize points, and not about whether the triple axel was lesbophobic
