Reading tech dudes enthuse about Sora , “it let’s me feel like a TikTok creator”, just confirms to me that these shitbirds are simultaneously lazy as hell and have no taste.

(There’s literally zero barrier to entry for becoming a TikTok creator.)

that's what i don't get about the llm bros

you don't buy bread at the store and say "it makes me feel like a baker."

it can't.

and how do you even know what a baker or tiktok creator feels like? you don't, bc you've never made anything.

the feeling they're feeling is pretend play

Here’s the thing about social media moderation: you need to have both a provision and a practice of keeping people off your platform even if they don’t break any of your rules but are simply just a fucking asshole. And of course off-platform behavior is a legitimate reason.

heh analogous to what i'm dealing with right now with google nixing xslt from chrome: they control 80% of the screens so if they don't feel like paying to fix the bugs in the implementation they've been coasting on for a decade and a half, they can just unceremoniously erase it from the standards

> The "protocol" is just a description of whatever the Bluesky app and servers do, it can and does change anytime the Bluesky developers decide they want to change it, and it will keep changing for as long as Bluesky apps and servers control the biggest part of the network.

Disappointing that it won't be out in time for Halloween but still exciting that Dick Maas will once more make Dutch canals an unexpected slasher breeding ground...

Again, let's be clear here: you are sending emails with words in them
