Here’s the thing about social media moderation: you need to have both a provision and a practice of keeping people off your platform even if they don’t break any of your rules but are simply just a fucking asshole. And of course off-platform behavior is a legitimate reason.

heh analogous to what i'm dealing with right now with google nixing xslt from chrome: they control 80% of the screens so if they don't feel like paying to fix the bugs in the implementation they've been coasting on for a decade and a half, they can just unceremoniously erase it from the standards

The thing I truly cannot process here is that the newsletter is an email block of text and sometimes pictures and that should be the ABSOLUTE EASIEST THING ON THE PLANET to find different options for.
