From Andrew Coyne's G&M article about Poilievre's proposed use of the Notwithstanding clause: “Poilievre isn’t proposing to use the notwithstanding clause to pass his crime bill — the point of the crime bill is so that he can use the notwithstanding clause.” #cdnpoli

Just listened to Carney's Nardwuar bit. He seems like a nice person. So do Singh + May. You also hear other people talk about them, tell fun stories, talk about their passions etc.
I've never heard any of this re. Poilievre. That's weird. None of his coworkers of 20 years have a fun story? Weird.

It continues to upset me that instead of picking the internationally renowned economist, there's a large percentage of the population who think this guy would be good.

Much of the media's attention is focused on what harm Pete Hegseth's reckless irresponsibility might do to him, when it should be focused on what harm it could have done to our troops--and *will* do to our relationships with allies, especially in Europe.

Ahead of Germany’s election, with anti-immigrant sentiment rising, they released viral videos showing life without immigrants.

History proves that when a country starts erasing certain people, it doesn’t end well.

The United States is currently doing “That’s it, no movies for a month!” but with tariffs. About three days in you come to realize who you’re really hurting, you pay that price for a while, but ultimately, the real cost is your credibility.
A basic rule of parenting is “Never make a threat you’re not prepared to carry out.” It’s almost like everyone in this administration is a really shitty parent.
#Breaking: U.S. Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick says he expects President Donald Trump will pause tariffs on Canada and Mexico until April 2

If you're one of the morons signing the petition to have Mark Carney stripped of his Canadian citizenship, quick question: did you do the same when the American Citizen, Andrew Scheer, was leader of the Conservative party?

Fave part of the #ontariodebate last night was when Ford admitted to flip flopping on the greenbelt, no one could follow up on it because he agreed with them he'd messed up.
It's idiotic. But he's going to get a majority again, isn't he? Because people think "he tells it like it is!" 🙄

Canada needs its own @ledbydonkeys.org. not enough people understand how terrible a Canada led by Poilievre would be.
If you're not aware of the great work led by donkeys do, I suggest you check out the brilliant things they have done.

If Canada's in the mood for some fun and not afraid of the US, we should find $1 billion dollars and offer to fund the labs of top US scientists who move their work here.

This.
Maybe the source of society's woes isn't poor people braving international travel to improve their children's futures, or unfortunate people who've lost their homes and networks, or minorities clawing their way up the social ladder, but rather hatemongers who fail upward and mistake it for merit?
