Guys I’m being 100% serious when I say I had a customer today who said that DC isn’t a part of America and that “it was going to be until President Trump stopped it” and compared it to the Vatican City and… London?

If she loses the primary it’s entirely her mom’s fault lol
Improving health care has been the cause of my life. It’s why I am running for congress. So I cannot support this deal when Speaker Johnson refuses to even allow a vote to extend health care tax credits. My statement:

For the record I absolutely see merit in the theory that Schumer likes this compromise but knows we hate it so he’s saying “no no it’s not *ME* who wants it, it’s the other Dems” without realizing that makes him look weak and unable to lead

What are the chances we actually get at least one of those Dems to back down before the second vote comes around? And then what are the chances Rand Paul gets his arm twisted into saving it?

From street marches to court battles to the ballot box - we’ve challenged the power of this exceptionally unpopular president.
The lesson from each success we've had is that we need to ramp the political pressure up, always up, not back down, now more than ever.

This proposal fails to reduce costs for Arizonans. Because of this, I cannot support it.
Congressional Republicans’ refusal to negotiate with Democrats is why the government shut down and why, more than 40 days later, it remains shut down.

Jeffries and Schumer broke up and went separate ways and the one whose votes actually matter went the wrong way 💔
Q: So Dr Oz said that--
JEFFRIES: Who? Nobody who is serious in this country takes Dr Oz seriously.

I do think it was a lose lose situation unless the government stayed shutdown until the midterms and GOP got brutalized. Well, I’m curious how the next funding deadline will go
like this is basically it, the melts melted under pressure

Shaheen: "We've heard from a number of our colleagues on the other side of the aisle that they're willing to come to the table, they're willing to work with us once the govt is open to get this done. We've heard the same thing from the White House. So now we'll see if they're really gonna work w/us"

Phones in the classroom are such an unnecessary thing and it's crazy anybody thinks it's unreasonable to want it banned. I survived just fine without tech in classrooms, most tech was banned even in hallways!
Phones and social media in school have long been a disaster for learning, but the good news is that we’re now banning cellphones in the classroom and it seems to be working. Now the question is if we’re going to learn from this and act early on AI.

What is he going to say when they don’t get the tax credits?? Probably jackshit, ugly bitch
King: So I believe that we are closer tonight to a vote on the ACA tax credits than we were this morning. This agreement tonight is a win for the American people.

I don’t know why senate democrats aren’t asking “why do they want to vote on the aca separately instead of just putting it in the bill?”

One thing that nobody talks about because it’s not elected: The Arizona Supreme Court got its first Democratic justice added since 2012. A GOP judge retired, and Katie Hobbs got to appoint the replacement. Court is now 6-1 GOP control
Who cares about supreme courts?
Michigan
—Dems swept 2 seats in 2024, went from 4-3 to 5-2. A GOP justice retired this yr, so now 6-1.
Wisconsin
—Dems flipped court, 3-4 to 4-3, in 2023. Defended edge last April. Can expand it next April.
Pennsylvania
—Dems defended 5-2 majority on Tuesday.
