The only correct take on a fundamentally anti-human technology.
Screenshot of David Simon interview
SHAPIRO: OK, so you've spent your career creating television without Al, and I could imagine today you thinking, boy, I wish I had had that tool to solve those thorny problems...
SIMON: What?
SHAPIRO: ...Or saying...
SIMON: You imagine that?
SHAPIRO: ...Boy, if that had existed, it would have screwed me over.
SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.
SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.
SIMON: I'd rather put a gun in my mouth.

Fellow PA voter, here.

He was the lone dissenting Democratic vote today, standing up against the notion that...

(Chrcks notes)

... the administration stop blowing up boats and killing people.

This is absolutely correct. Bautista was working his ass off to make acting a viable career. He put in the time, made the low-rent movies, practiced the craft, and earned his current roles.

Goddamn, that man is exhausting.

That would be part of the assumed debt, which is it's own (recognized) issue.

I want their "it's your problem now" price.

Carlos Barria took just about every great photo of the first Trump administration. He’s in Portland right now documenting what’s actually going on.

Also, on topic of new Bluesky users: I get asked a LOT about how to find followers.

Don't worry about "followers." Like, repost, and/or comment when you see things you like. If you're not willing to engage first, people probably won't discover you.

When started with Bluesky year ago, Starter Packs were such a big thing. As I wasn't popular kid, just made me feel excluded.

Glad they don't seem to be emphasized as much these days.

That said, if new & posting great movie content...drop me a comment. Always want to follow new voices.

Yeah, those wre some LOTR (book) level travel scenes, though again, in the context of a serial, they make sense as chapter breaks -- leaving for the next stage ends one weekly adventure, the next recaps for people coming the next week.

If you're firing pepper balls at a guy in a giant frog costume do you even have the kind of self-awareness and capacity for introspection required to wonder what went wrong with your life?

I definitely wouldn't have appreciated it as a younger man, that's for sure, so I can understand the frustration among some fans.

TBH, I didn't think about the subtext at all. I was just like, "Well, they got Doc in a tattered shirt, just like every recognizable cover!"

I know all of youse has already pre-ordered this brilliant anthology filled with brilliant writers.

But what about your families or your coworkers?

Shouldn't they have a chance to be happy?

Tell them to pre-order today. Or better yet, take their credit card and do it for them.

They'll thank you.

Like I said, this was very clearly something the interviewer wanted off of her plate. Which, fine, I get it. It wasnt supposed to be her job.

But to hammer that point repeatedly, at the expense of all my other experience that matched the the bulk of the job, was definitely a choice.

It's nice that you were able to step in. I've dealt with execs like that before, attacking one thing to sound informed, and it's just asinine.

I told this person, for the third time, no, that was an entirely different division at my former employer, "as I said previously."

That finally ended it.

Elected Dems should come together in a public place, for the press, to have an unprecedented all hands on deck press conference, to read a signed statement, declaring the Pres unfit and declaring a danger to democracy.

any random moderately successful small restaurant creates 20 jobs

imagine how many little businesses that $38 million could spawn if we *correctly* allocated that capital to *actual job producers* (which are always small business)

Ubisoft's problem, for years, has been listening to the loudest voices online.

Anyone who spends any amount of time online knows that the loudest voices never have an actual grievance, but Ubisoft always has a knee-jerk reaction and caves to people who look for a reason to be offended.
