Go to Chipotle or Panera and it's 50% more expensive and much worse quality than it was 6 years ago. Go to McDonald's and it's like 30% more expensive but roughly the same quality vs 6 years ago. Worrisome yeah but I think the complete enshittification of fast casual is a big part of this
Not sure what’s more worrisome: that McDonalds low-income consumer traffic is down double digits — or that high-income consumer traffic is UP double digits.

One of those things I learned from union organizing was that a lot of people will agree with you that shit's fucked and it shouldn't be like this but at the end of the fundamentally didn't believe that anything better was possible.
i want to still believe, really have to believe, that the great majority of people simply do not want to live like this
