I literally started writing my current story as a practice story, because the plot is folklore, so I could just worry on my technique-- but now I'm so attached to it that I feel like everything needs to be perfect, and I'm drawing maps and diagrams and character charts and ugh😭😭

I think something we don't appreciate enough as a society is that for the majority of human history hearing a particular piece of music was only possible if you could find someone in a public place/event playing it, owned an instrument/knew it yourself, or were rich and could employ a musician.
