Nothing to see here. This is definitely a normal post that perfectly demonstrates appropriate behavior for a man with grave responsibilities to the nation and absolutely, positively does not show psychological derangement and incapacity to serve as president under section 4 of the 25th Amendment.

Wow. Last used ~1934, inherent contempt would in effect bring Bondi to trial in the House & by majority vote empower the House to put her in jail. Far more effective than other options (criminal referral to her own DOJ or endless civil litigation), it'd be a huge bipartsan stand against the Admin.
BRENNAN: What are you going to do to force DOJ to comply?

MASSIE: The quickest way and most expeditious way to get justice for these victims is to bring inherent contempt against Pam Bondi. That doesn't require going through the courts. We're drafting that right now.

Another beautiful Shchedryk performance amidst ruins.

It was set in what used to be a DTEK thermal power plant — now destroyed by russia.

The contrast between russia’s destructive nature and the Ukrainian will to create beauty even in the darkest times is palpable.

In case people need a refresher:

The Trump administration is fighting contempt proceedings y in federal court over what happened “inside CECOT” to human beings unlawfully renditioned there.

Bari Weiss’s CBS News is now part of the coverup.

I have a sneaking suspicion that no one involved in this farce, especially Trump, has the foggiest idea what "Memorial" means.

Again, I really wish more papers would get accustomed to the form “Trump unlawfully pretends to…” when describing things Trump says he’s doing but has no legal power to do.
Like renaming the Defense Department the "War Department," the name of the Kennedy Center has not been legally changed, because Congress has not changed it-->

I keep saying this but no one is connecting the dots. The war is to satisfy legal preconditions for mass removal *domestically* of Latinos (i.e., suddenly a lot of people are going to be “Venezuelan” for purposes of removal). This is 100% Stephen Miller…oil claim is to make grandpa go along
There is no national security logic that would impel the US to want to do regime change in Venezuela. It's simply not that important. I'm not even sure wag the dog is the right metaphor for what's happening here. Seems like an insane misallocation of US national security assets and attention.
Trump: "Venezuela is completely surrounded by the largest Armada ever assembled ... It will only get bigger, and the shock to them will be like nothing they have ever seen before — Until such time as they return to the USA all of the Oil, Land, and other Assets that they previously stole from us."

Good piece about some very bad editorials, which I find more depressing than enraging. They have no apparent audience (besides Bezos) and lack basic fluency in the legal concepts they discuss. Both asinine and utterly pointless. Can someone who understands the law at least write them?
It is hard to overstate how shallow and embarrassing the Washington Post Editorial Board's analysis is whenver it tries to write about the law. They don't make arguments so much as they crank out half-assed jumbles of buzzwords that they hope will make Jeff Bezos happy. Don't care for it at all!
The Washington Post Editorial Board Is Spectacularly Awful at Legal Analysis
Since Bezos overhauled the board earlier this year, it has been very good at cranking out billionaire-friendly propaganda. It is quite bad at everything else.

BREAKING: Judges Rao and Walker — both Trump appointees — issue an "administrative stay" blocking Judge Boasberg's contempt proceedings set to begin on Monday.

The administrative stay is issued over the objection of Judge Childs, a Biden appointee.

"The jury verdict from 10 years ago contains a scrivener's error insofar as it states that the defendant was not guilty. We are changing that, nunc pro tunc, to guilty."

Yeah, no.
It is not! A “scrivener’s error” is for things like fixing typos or very minor non-material errors, not retroactively adding a deportation order that doesn’t current exist!
Is "correcting" a previous order like this a real thing?

I sure would like to see the Virginia General Assembly legalize balcony solar in 2026. Let people buy a $100 solar panel at Costco, plug it into an outlet on their porch, and make electricity. Germany does it. Utah does it. Virginia can do it too.
