I'm gonna be real honest man, the fact that we have to keep constantly exhorting everyone to call their elected representatives every other day to say "please do not sign off on the Make Life Worse For Everyone Bill please" is intensely degrading, and also a pretty poor sign for a functional society

For Trump and Miller, the Abrego Garcia case was a crucial gauge of how far they could get in disappearing undesirables and placing them beyond the law entirely.

Judge Xinis' ruling is important in that context. It calls out Trump's lawless conduct throughout. 2/

A tiny trial in New York has shown that personalized mRNA vaccines can provoke massive, lasting immune responses against pancreatic cancer, even as sweeping federal cuts now threaten the fragile labs required to produce them.

I want to believe that Vance can be excommunicated
NEW: The Trump-Vance White House has falsely accused an ally of Pope Leo — Sr. Norma Pimentel — of illegal activity tied to migrant aid, and cut off all federal funding to Catholic Charities in Texas.

Church leaders say it’s a targeted, political reprisal against Pope Leo and the Catholic Church.

Democrats should commit now to not recognizing any pardons issued in advance of charges. Tell Trump administration officials that preemptive pardons will not be honored by a future Democratic administration and that criminals will be arrested.
"Trump Is Already Discussing Preemptive Pardons For His Lawless Administration"

The revelation comes as Pete Hegseth faces scrutiny for a possible war crime, and as a judge pursues a contempt inquiry into the defiance of his order.

This. This was the formative event of my generation & our entire politics in 🇺🇸. The structural break after which we were no longer a full democracy, when 5 Wizards In Robes decided they were a super-legislature & counting all the actual votes didn’t matter. The rest has been 25 years of commentary.
25 years ago today, SCOTUS elected George W Bush president of the United States by blocking completion of a voting canvass in Florida. A subsequent canvass by the Associated Press showed that Bush's rival, Al Gore, had won the race in Florida—and thus the contest for the presidency—by 700 votes.

Note: Trump's plummeting rating on the economy has pierced the crucial Darwin Threshhold...the point at which his approval rating on handling the economy (31 percent) is actually lower than the number of Americans who do not believe in evolution (33-37 percent), the once solid core of Trump support.
There's still room to drop further. "Trump’s handling of the economy is at its lowest point in AP-NORC polling" apnews.com/article/trum...

With CUSMA negotiations w/Canada & Mexico, as well as the renewal of the one-year tariff truce w/China in 2026, expect more market-moving new tariffs next year.

Trump sent Vance there twice. He threatened to cut off all federal spending to the state. He vowed to back primary challengers of any Republican who voted against him here. He posted their names online, prompting his fans to send them death threats.

But all that failed, so now he wasn't involved.

Trump: I wasn't working on it very hard. I wasn't very much involved

I think it’s also true that loneliness among women has historically been treated as an individual problem, while loneliness among men is treated as a societal problem. That, in turn, comes from an assumption that women are supposed to earn the company of others while men are entitled to it.
men’s loneliness gets “more airtime”?

baby I have lived the past three decades of my life witnessing corporate media elevate men’s loneliness into a full-blown balls-to-the-wall CRISIS once every 4-5 years

“more airtime” is hilarious
