Ah, So AI is just another case where the Left immediately sees the man behind the curtain, while the neolibs yell at them and insist we should listen to what the evil wizard has to say and try to find common ground.
The replies to this are yet another giant red flag that your perception of reality is very much mediated through your community, that you’re not immune because you’re left of center, and that you should not assume that a community being online-only reduces this effect in any way
I understand why people are exhausted by AI hype, and why those of us squarely in the corner of "human dignity uber alles" see AI doomerism as self-serving hype, but I *really* think people on the left broadly need to start thinking seriously about the possibiltiy of the hype being...true.

Didn't the Free Press already run this article? Like, a couple hundred times by now?

The hilarious irony of this post coming from an account named after the Mueller Report - the dampest of damp squibs Democrats hyped for fully two years - is apparently lost on these folks.
LISTEN: There are a lot of folks out here working tirelessly to get the truth out there. Replying to us that nothing matters because there'll be no consequences is not only incorrect, but it belittles the work we do. It's insulting and shortsighted. Stop following us if you don't want the info.

One of the most tiresome and disappointing aspects of modern life is how absolutely no-one in remotely any position of power or influence ever accepts responsibility for anything they've done. It's always denials and spin. Fucking Nixon had more integrity than anyone in politics in the 21st century.

My Superbowl watching Experience:
OK, looks like something is about to happen. They've all lined up.
Nope, timeout.
So, something was about to happen, but now it's not... gotta wait a bit longer. So EXCITING!
Now it's time for some more commercials.
And we're back to waiting for something to happen.

I don't trust these clowns any more than I trust Trump or Musk, they're clearly just a source of officially- endorsed disinformation, dressed up as an independent outlet.

No-one alive is more full of shit than Elon Musk. He's a monumental fraud, yet millions of people still think he's going to save humanity.

So now, guys like Jonathan Ross won't have to hold their own phones when they shoot protestors in the future.
Kristi Noem: “Effective immediately we are deploying body cameras to every officer in the field in Minneapolis.”

How you know that no-one is watching that accursed movie: never in the history of blockbusters has there been such as thing as "standing room only" in a theater. That's what they call a fire code violation.
Kayleigh: My mom went to see Melania. She said the theater was packed, it was standing room only. People were cheering through it, they were excited. It was interactive—people interplaying with the film. She said it was just electric.

Absolutely FUCK META, Zuckerberg and the Billionaire / Silicon Valley mindset that says we are paying guests in our own lives and nothing is more important than being exploited for their profits.

I think it's both funny & encouraging that, with all the effort by Right Wing influencers to conjure up a solemn National 9/11- type moment for the Charlie Kirk assassination, their star player didn't have the acting chops or discipline to be convincing enough to make it stick.

Spoiler alert: they're gonna cave on the 6th bill, they're just hoping the news cycle will have moved on to something else by then.
🚨 The Senate has agreed to a deal to vote on 5/6 full appropriations bills and replace the DHS funding measure with a 2-week stopgap bill, per multiple sources. That gives time to negotiate on the Dem demands for ICE and CBP restraints.

Alex Pretti is 10x the man any ICE agent or ICE supporter thinks they are
About a week before federal agents shot him to death, Pretti “stopped his car after observing ICE agents chasing what he described as a family on foot, and began shouting and blowing his whistle.”

ICE tackled him to the ground and broke his rib.

“That day, he thought he was going to die.”
Alex Pretti was in earlier confrontation with federal agents who tackled him, broke his rib, sources say | CNN
Federal immigration officials have been collecting information on protesters and agitators, sources told CNN.

I guess the CECOT story still isn't ready and everyone's still working on that instead of paying attention to Gaza, Minneapolis or Davos. Must be tough for a scrappy little independent news outfit like CBS.
And, tonight, the network's flagship news program -- 60 Minutes -- ran a clip show of old celeb interviews to "celebrate the movies" rather than put together an episode focused on what's going on in Minnesota.
The person who publishes the Free Press — where the words “Minneapolis” and “Minnesota” never appear tonight — also runs CBS News.
