Die Hard PC Engine was originally going to be released by Nichibutsu as "Dasshutsu" 脱出 which at a glance looks very similar to 脱獄 aka P.O.W. but ended up getting renamed to Die Hard and released from Pack in Video, can't find information about why but interesting nonetheless. #pcengine
脱出 (Escape) temp name is the title of the game shown here

The current office of CAProduction in Nagasaki, Japan. <A small thread>. Established in July 1993 by a few former Tecno Soft employees from Nagasaki, they've developed everything from Hagane (SNES), Bulk Slash (Saturn), DECA Sports (Wii) to assisting with Clubhouse Sports and the Mario Party series.

Are there any photos out there of any of the pucks he actually signed? All of them have his signature stamped on them, so I’m not sure what differentiates the ones signed by hand, at least by looking at them online.

Based on the number of loose pucks I’ve seen on eBay over the years, it was quite common at one point for sure. Boxes and packaging are a rare breed these days, especially ones in good shape. I managed to get mine before prices got too crazy.

October 5 was Mario Lemieux's birthday. How many of these Sega Genesis Mario Lemieux Hockey bundles with a puck exist? Only 100 pucks were signed by Lemieux himself. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eli-...

A lot of places say Aquamarine worked on Famicom Jump II with Chunsoft, but I don't see their name anywhere. gdri.smspower.org/wiki/index.p...

Isamu Kondo (Rocket Engine) mentioned working on an unreleased PlayStation action game. Could that have been Bounty Arms? www.beep-shop.com/column_entry... bsky.app/profile/kidf...

Hey, it's Bounty Arms, my favorite unreleased game! Here's one of many writeups I did about the demo, which you can download from my site!

Yutaka Sugano recalled this in "The Untold History of Japanese Game Developers Volume 3," but nothing has ever turned up. bsky.app/profile/vgde...

A decade ago, I read in a thread posted on Assemblergames that Sega had also produced cartridges for the US version of its console, but this has never been confirmed (and it would presumably imply that Tetris was considered as a launch title for the Genesis).

Lot of stuff in the Volk papers, but about the only thing relevant to GDRI is this Japan trip report by Tom Sloper. archive.gamehistory.org/item/84f550c...

Man, even Matt Furniss wasn't spared the shrug of indifference. 😩

"They compose and re-arrange midi music for Sega Genesis using their own driver. Also, SNES."
"Eh. Fast moving. Boring tunes. Same drum beat over and over. Same tempo."

The only Sega CD game listed in the William Volk papers' 1993 action plan, Zork was likely a port of "Return to Zork," which shipped for PC that Sept. RtZ was a point-and-click game, and it would have cool to see how it fared on the Sega CD. What could have been!

The Japanese Mario 64 official strategy guide is an incredible thing. "Can we make little hand-made dioramas of all the levels?" "Sure, why the hell not."
