While at the same time the City of Ottawa is ignoring a huge $10 billion deficit to maintain, repair & renew its aging infrastructure & facilities. So "penny wise and pound foolish". #ottcity
Ottawa’s property tax increases have been the lowest of any major city in Canada.

Got word overnight my ODSP app was declined. While I will appeal; in effort to not move out of #Ottawa,

I ask again if anyone need a smart, articulate, creative - with warfighting, full stack software, community org/building and poli/king maker skills.

Needs to be remote, on call is fine.

We’re looking to do a Hintonburg Heatpumps & Hot Choclate Heatpump Crawl (Jan 18th) and would love to add another heatpump to the tour.

Does anyone that follows me + live in that ‘hood have a heatpump and want to host some folks on their front porch to talk heatpumps?

Social housing is essential housing. EnviroCentre is focused on rectifying the systemic inequities experienced by households in eastern Ontario. The EnviroCentre Retrofit Accelerator Carver Place project was the first big step in this work.

His claim that not supporting ever-expanding police budgets equals not supporting community safety is false. What undermines safety is pouring more money into the same old tactics while refusing to address the real emergencies driving instability. 19/

And here’s the kicker: Tierney’s vote, the mayor’s vote, and all the like-minded councillors always have the numbers. They win. Every time.
So if their approach is always the one implemented… how are things not improving, Tim? 17/

Councillor Tim Tierney is wrong about ‘Chronic No-Voters’ in his Ottawa Citizen Op/Ed on Saturday.
His opinion would be easier to take seriously if the comments weren’t coming from someone with a 15-year track record of being a reliable yes-man for every budget. 1/21

Will we finally get #highspeedrail in Canada? I've heard about it most of my life. And my local LRT construction started before 2020 and we aren't even close yet.

But it's here: "fast-tracked federal approval in the coming months [includes]...high-speed rail between Toronto and Quebec City"

Jamie with the deets. Things the mayor never shares in his austerity budgets.
This watermain is from 1976.

Ottawa has 1009km of watermains older than this one.

Council just deferred $2 billion in identified water and sewer renewal work for the next decade.

You're going to see a lot more of this happening in the future.
⚠️Please be advised that the Innes Road westbound is closed at Pagé Road due to a watermain break.

Innes Road is reduced to 1 lane eastbound between Orléans Boulevard and Pagé Road.

The NCC should propose savings by closing all the Parkways to motor vehicles permanently. This would reduce annual maintenance costs, policing costs, and generate huge savings on life cycle capital costs.

Wonder how that would play with the federal government?
