Right at the corner of Parkside and Howard Park.

No one with power was serious about protecting pedestrians here. There were years to fix Parkside Drive before Ford made it nearly impossible.
Pedestrian struck by motorist on Parkside a block from the speed camera that vigilantes kept tearing down that caused ford to remove them from all Ontario. Drive as you wish Ontario. Nobody matters. This is what you voted for.

Because it feels relevant as we continue to evaluate the media and our representatives’ statements, my favorite way to identify the active vs. passive voice.

@crobertcargill.bsky.social Just finished The Gorge and what a great fun movie. The chemistry in the first half between Miles and Anya built to the action amazingly.

Fantastic job and will be highly recommended. Oh and Sigourney in that kind of role? Always perfect casting.

Most Black folks knew this nonsense was coming. It's wrong, but we've always had to hustle, so I feel like collectively we'll be all right. But I also can't help thinking that a whole lot of white people, deprived of the "DEI" excuse, are about to get a wake-up call about their own mediocrity.

No, Gaiman didn't plagiarize Tanith Lee (I have a bunch of Lee first editions, I interviewed her once, I know her work). There are a bunch of writers who did gods stuff before him (Adams, Leiber) BUT it does show something I've noticed that a lot of writers from the 80s and 70s have been forgotten-

Meet the destroyer HMS Glowworm. In April 1940 she was forced to fight the German Heavy Cruiser Admiral Hipper, ten times her size, and Hipper's destroyer escorts.

Her extraordinary last stand earned her captain the first Victoria Cross of WW2. In part because THE GERMANS nominated him for one /1 🧵

Okay, about this echo chamber thing.

Who cares?

When I come here, I don't see a ton of obnoxious trolls spouting transphobia, homophobia, ableism, racism, misogyny and the rest of that shit thinking.

If that's an echo chamber, sign me up and save me a deck chair.

1983. Damn I love this art from my youth, that cover was amazing but boy this makes me feel old!
THANATOS (1983)
Acrylic - 24" x 36"

Just before beginning this painting I broke my right hand—my painting hand!—and found myself forced to function with my fingers, wrist, and arm immobilized in a cast. Determined not to let the injury stop me, I employed tricks to circumvent my infirmity. 1/

Well now that method of verification was different. The average new user might not know how to set up a DNS txt record, but I'll be curious how it shakes out long term. (Yes my blog is long dormant for many reasons I hope to change)
