Spending $200 billion on ICE is a terrible idea
I've covered federal law enforcement for two decades. Here are the things that worry me most.

Beveridge Curve check-in: Relationship between unemployment and openings is pretty much back to its prepandemic trend, which implies further declines in openings (if we get them) will bring faster increases in unemployment. Also true if we use quits instead of openings.

russia’s second front is our fifth risk.

the most dangerous front in europe is shifting to a hybrid war between russia and nato.

nato will start to push back on russia's gray-zone operations.

and all sides grow more risk acceptant.

ChatGPT needs to have one of those “For Entertainment Purposes Only” labels, like a Magic 8 Ball.
The thing that jumps out to me here is that the article says the doctor’s *colleague* went looking for the fake studies.

It suggests the doctor who used ChatGPT didn’t check for himself and uncritically assumed they were real.

The reason the Trump regime is trying to demolish the entire international order built after World War II is that they think the wrong side won that war.
Eyes wide open, folks. They're revealing the supervillain plot.

Good morning, it's Jobs Day. Reports today will likely focus on the modest job growth we saw in June and a fairly low unemployment rate.

But I want to once again *turn your attention to Black women,* where the story is very different.
