The law used in this case was passed in 1986.

But if Johnson wants to look at more recent laws that have been used to arrest people for their social media use, he’ll be shocked when he discovered who was in government – or even Number 10 – when they were introduced, over liberal objections.

Excellent piece from @chrisgiles.ft.com. It's notable how, as per Mark Carney's comments, Brexit has become the internationally recognized yardstick of national economic self-harm. It's not even contentious: the talking point is whether and to what extent it applies to what Trump is doing to the US.
Welcome to Brexitland, US, in which waywardness is described as "strategic uncertainty", restrictions on trade boost performance and self harm is lauded....

Spoiler, it does not end happily

The other place really is toxic and ludicrous commenting on Vance and Trump. But it’s still so much better for conversations. I still find that here people mostly post earnestly but don’t really talk.

I really feel we are through the looking glass in the other place. But it’s still better for a bit of conversation than here. But too many weird takes, Elon fans and decent people giving credence to things that o think are dreadful.
