as creative buckaroos we sometimes are beholden to a specific path we dream up, but in my experience art becomes SO POWERFUL when we hand over the reins and let it teach us about ourselves. when we COLLABORATE with fate. when we realize there is no artistic failure, there are just WAVES

Japan's "Mundane Halloween" costume contest is back!

Each year website DailyPortalZ holds a contest where people dress up as something super duper ordinary.

notice the general mood of the timeline? how everyone is in a good mood and there’s a lot less misery and dooming? how there’s a lot of “we’re going to beat these assholes”?

anyway that’s why these events are important

When I was little, the U.S. military came to our home at gunpoint and took me and my family away. We were imprisoned for years in barbed wire camps simply because we were Japanese American. I have spent my life telling that story, hoping it would never be repeated.

One fun thing about writing historical romance is that I’ve read way too many people pontificating about the Value of a Free Market when what they meant was “shut the fuck up and stop complaining about the opium.”
