I know it's not mainstream conventional wisdom but I think "Abolish ICE" is a perfectly reasonable response to this and you can get the public to buy in. Most people don't want masked murderous thugs roving their streets

As a fellow midwesterner, I agree that our social contract of helping distressed drivers in wintry conditions is generally laudable.

Couldn't agree more. Bombing and murdering fishermen in the Caribbean was the first indication that the US military was willing to follow illegal orders. And, with SCOTUS basically giving Assolini a pre-emptive pardon for anything and everything he does as President, the sky is the limit. Look out!
