"responsibility laundering" is a GOOD way to put so much of this.
"AI" cannot be held accountable; it is people who build and operate it who must be held accountable. We can assess technically that it's harmful and not fit for purpose, but it is an ethical and social failure that people still use it to inflict those harms while laundering their own responsibility.
