Who cares most about the NHS? Is it the doctors who work in it & deliver for patients or is it Wes Streeting, a politician who's taken huge amounts of cash from the private healthcare sector? #GMB

Inequality is not an accident. It is not natural. And it is not inevitable.

According to the United Nations’ World Inequality Report, inequality results from deliberate political and institutional choices.

The question is, why do our politicians perpetuate it?

Wealth taxes aren't some wild, untested idea.

In fact, they already have them in 🇫🇷 France to 🇳🇴 Norway, 🇪🇸 Spain, and 🇨🇭Switzerland.

Here's what we can learn from them.

Thanks to perseverance and people power, offshore wind went from a niche idea to the backbone of the UK power grid.

In the 25 years since the Blyth wind farm was built, the UK’s electricity has gone from being 74% fossil fuels in 2000, to 51% renewables in 2024.

UK Govt plan to reduce child poverty is welcome but that requires reduction in parental poverty.

That can't be done without equitable distribution of income and wealth, stronger trade unions, progressive taxation, decent housing, education, healthcare, jobs and sound economy.

Who will do that?
To tackle child poverty the government must deal with parental poverty
Labour's child poverty strategy offers some welcome measures, but it won't address the factors keeping families trapped in poverty

BUT 16m people, including 5.2m children, live in poverty.

24m people live below socially acceptable living standards.
