For further context twitter added a button that allows users to generate ai images using existing art posts from artists. It removes glaze and it basically reskins the artwork by using the existing work as a base. Twitter is no longer a safe space for art

Sure, you might think it's too harsh. Sure, they might've only used it for early stuff in development, etc

My conspiracy theory about genAI in games blowing up more and more by big companies is that they’ve all got a ton of investors insisting they use genAI tools otherwise they(investors) won’t be able to bankroll em anymore

I think genAI for concept art is worse than using it in the final product. Its rhe difference between running with an idea YOU created or shopping for an unoriginal idea that isn't yours.
Using it at all is deplorable imo, especially in a genre that is known for-

As it's a hot topic right now: We do not use any Gen AI or LLMs in any of our games & are not planning to.
So far its implementations have felt far from "necessary" & come with a myriad of ethical/environmental concerns.
But most importantly, we enjoy every step of the creative process without it.
