I always wondered by Noam Chomsky has been shilling for Russia, toting their "NATO expansion" line. Now we know all about Noam. Wow.

I don't think there are any diplomatic efforts Europe could do now to stop this. Even if there is a ceasefire, the Iranian regime will definitely try to get the bomb now. Besides, since Iranian missiles and drones started killing Ukrainians, no one in Europe wants to talk to Iran any more.

Trump’s “everyone should evacuate Tehran immediately” line is a sadistic version of narcissistic supply - wanting drama, and specifically, drama in which others suffer mentally or physically.

Iran launches 100 Shahed drones on Israel and three countries are taking off their jets to destroy them.

Meanwhile, ~500 Shaheds launched on Ukraine in a single night and our "partners" are just "deeply concerned."

I’m so done with this hypocrisy.

I honestly really hate that narrative. Why is it that everything that is authoritarian has to always be branded as rightwing? Even when came out of communist regimes. Why is it so hard for some people to accept that leftist authoritarians are just as real as the rightwing ones?
I don’t know about democratic socialism but marxism leninism yeah definitely it’s just fascism with a red coat of paint lol

The 1989 death of communism and revolutions of Central Europe was one of the single greatest moments in recent European history. Cope harder, commie.
I watched Yeltsin's drunk ass shell the Duma live on CNN. The fall of the USSR was a tragedy and Gorbachev was a fool. That said, the Wehrmacht had 2M KIA/MIA in the East and 500K in the West, and Hiroshima was timed to preclude the planned Soviet assault of Japan that August. You tell me

The silver lining is that the Euro stands strong. Investors trust Europe to be safer for their money than the Asian and American market.

I heard from friends in politics that Chinese diplomats are in Brussels right now, trying to convince the Europeans to join them in coordinating counter-tariffs and make them extra punishing for the Americans.
Oh and dont forget there is going to be a second round to this (hopefully les severe) when EU and other countries arond the world anounce their retaliatory measures.

I like this veiled threat. But have you considered that Trump might be too stupid to understand it?
The EU is China's top trading partner while #China is the EU's second biggest trading partner (after the US).

Together, they represent over a 3rd of the world's:

➡️ global trade
➡️ global GDP

Where is he getting these numbers? We already buy half our LNG from America, that costs 17 billion a year. If we bought all LNG from America that would be 34B. Under Biden the E.U also switched to importing most oil from the U.S, but even if we bought all oil from the U.S it would never be 350B
The EU will have to commit to buying $350 billion of American energy to get a reprieve from sweeping tariffs, US President Donald Trump said yesterday.

God is this embarrassing. I bet when he finds out that the European energy market is moving toward renewables, he will demand we stop doing that.
It's basically the first number they found after googling it.

There is no point in trying to make sense of these ridiculous demands Trump makes of us. But we should point out the errors and falsehoods in them. At the very least, to show how much of a clown he is.

Also, in geopolitics, this would push Saudi Arabia and the Arab gulf states away from their American alliance and European customers, and into the arms of China.
Not only that, the US would have to stop exporting fuels to anywhere but the EU, because the $350B are also roughly the whole US fuel exports.

A reminder to fellow Europeans: It's not about tariffs. We had a 1.6% tariff on imported U.S goods. Trump is not here to make us get rid of that 1.6% tariff. He wants to force us to deregulate our agricultural sector into buying American meat, and kill our renewable energy reforms for American oil.
