Whenever anarchism — or any idea more radical than the status quo — gets dismissed as unserious, it's worth remembering the current system runs on things like "we put all the money on a scam machine that tells rich dipshits they're god."

"The hundreds of billions of dollars companies are investing in AI now account for an astonishing 40 per cent share of US GDP growth this year... In a way, then, America has become one big bet on AI."

It’s seen as the magic fix for every threat to the US economy

I like the little details in it, like being able to switch your token art quickly if your character has multiple outfits or uploading a sound file for your character’s anthem in combat.

Ran my first game with the Codex for Draw Steel. It’s a really good tool! Even in development, one of my players (who runs an in person game) said he’s considering just having people bring their laptops to the table and run it off that.

Late to the party but I watched the new Superman movie. My favorite part about it was that it obviously took place in a comic book universe, not our universe where comic book people show up.

One thing I'll say about DC not only canceling Red Hood, but recalling the first issue and refunding stores for buying it, is that you can still get Neil Gaiman's work through them. They still work with Otto Schmidt. Eddie Berganza worked there for years AFTER the formation of a policy that no women

just turn that sentence over in your mind:

"this is what seems to be happening now: Senior officials in the federal government have taken over a conservative media entity to talk about a crackdown on anti-conservative thought and speech"

For context that's a third the price the RIAA expected a single human to pay for just downloading 24 songs a decade ago (after cutting the ruling down from $1.5m, or $62,000 per song), and that's not adjusting for inflation:

If you are okay with this, if you think this is justified, if you think people living on the street have brought this upon themselves, if you think this is good leadership, you may be able to fool yourself that you care about others but you don’t fool me

If you ever play Trash Pals by @gothhoblin.me I highly recommend drawing whatever maps you might need on pieces of trash.
Chrarcter sheets for Trash Pals with doodles of a raccoon and pigeon under ripped pieces of cardboard with crude maps drawn in red ink.

the entitlement fans feel to the work of authors they purport to love rises to the level of sickness, in my opinion. sanderson is beloved because he vomits out words like a busted standpipe, hardly ever holding up Consumption

Self-describing one's art as "content" was an own-goal that made it easier for AI stans to erase the idea that humans w/souls are creative & capable of superior works of art.

To me, "content" is the perfect grey, gruel, featureless word for what genAI & ChatGPT burps up as product (derogatory)
Quoted posts: "I've long disliked 'CONTENT' as used by Makers of Things to describe what they make + who they are. 'Content' is a gormless word w/zero personality that's been weaponized by capitalism. It's a raygun erasing the person who makes something and devaluing their talent and skill and role in making it."

"When you make your work anonymous by slapping a generic "content" label on it, or beige your profession by identifying as a "content creator," you make it easier for capitalism to normalize treating anything you make as faceless, and worthless. "Content" has always been an iffy, yikes, do-harm word (with regards to art and artists)."
