Chicago Ald. Gregory Mitchell oversees the 7th Ward, which is home to the South Shore apartment building at the center of last week’s ICE raid.

He didn’t sign the letter.

Mitchell has not yet publicly issued a statement on the raid.

Let me get this straight: Link, a Black user, got banned for calling out the Bluesky CEO for following a racist. That’s not a good look, especially given Bluesky’s historical treatment of Black users here on bluesky.

NEW — Today, Illinois and Chicago jointly filed a federal lawsuit, asking a judge to block Trump’s efforts to federalize and deploy troops to Illinois, and to declare the actions unlawful.

The lawsuit includes a history of Trump’s “animus” toward a Chicago, as well.
