The cat in my profile picture went to cat heaven today. Waylon was the very best of all good boys ever and should have gotten more than 8 years. I let my ex keep him when I moved out and he was the best cat dad and Waylon had the best life possible but man shit sucks sometimes.

Sometimes (ok, more often these days) I get wistful about living alone/the whole LDR experience and then I come home and eat takeout egg rolls standing up like a raccoon in pajamas and I remember why it’s nice sometimes not to have an audience.

Reconnected with a high school friend I hadn’t seen in 15 years. An hour shooting the shit and it’s like no time passed. Except now we are middle aged emotionally stable professionals talking about grant writing and parenting (or semi-stepparenting as the case may be). A bonafide Xmas miracle.

Drove to Ironwood and back, oof. The roads were worse than predicted and spending all damn day in the car for cheap reefer is a lot more fun when it’s not below zero, snowing, and dark at 4:30. I’m still punk enough to do it, though! And got a case of Spotted Cow for my troubles/college nostalgia.

Went to my pals’ Friendsgiving and had deep fried turkey for the first time and now that’s how you do that. 10/10 no notes and between that and the leftovers from my parents I am not cooking for the rest of the week.

Uneventful small family Thanksgiving! My mom made a big ass turkey even though no one likes roast turkey because my dad makes a fantastic turkey soup. I did not fight my sister even though she ate more of the stuffing.
