I haven't watched Avatar because it gives me the ick. I'm not Indigenous, but I can't get past the cultural ugliness of the glaringly obvious redface, but blue.
While I personally enjoy the Avatar movies, I don’t think we should begrudge any Native or indigenous person who takes a pass on them. Shit is weird no matter how you slice it.

I didn't realize I have strong opinions about furniture styles until I started shopping for a dining table set. My god I hate mid-century modern. It either looks like it's going to fall apart in a week or something you'd see in a dentist office.

I think this fish might actually be rotting from the tail. Deep red towns and counties that have elected far right loud mouths are learning that they can't actually govern. They waste time and money on issues that have no local effects.
this is a really good development and historically how these far right movements have fractured and lost momentum in the past. i think it's maybe all too big now to fall apart quickly but i'm keeping an eye on it

I went up to Portland last week, and it was really lovely. I was there to see Garbage play at the Crystal Ballroom. Shirley Manson had some nice things to say about the protests in her awesome Scottish accent.

I have a white supremacist cousin who tried to join the Navy many years ago and got a "failure to adapt." I know someone else that was rejected just because they had a tattoo that was sus. You don't get in just by passing a physical.
New policy: people who imply or state that it's common and regular for veterans to walk around with Nazi tattoos are going to catch a block. I'm upset enough already on an ambient level and I don't need that shit in my life, get absolutely fucked

What if we just required big box stores to have roof top solar? Their roofs are ugly anyway. Can you imagine if every Wal-Mart, Target, Home Depot, Lowes and Best Buy had solar panels? Probably could power small towns.

I sort of think of people who oppose as AI as being like vegans. I'm not a vegan, but I'm not going to make them eat meat. But I'm also not going to put up with being judged for not being vegan.
