When Pierre goes down with his dumpster fire and Kenney comes back to "save" the CPC, let's not pretend that it's somehow better.

In the end, he's still going to be the same self-hating piece of shit that he was 30 years ago.

"If the court rules to enforce gay rights, and the Alberta government rolls over, they will clearly be implicated in the decision," Kenney told the Alberta Report, a defunct right-wing magazine that regularly denounced "sodomy" and the "gay lifestyle."

"If, on the other hand, they have the courage to invoke Section 33, to use the one remedy in the Charter, they will have begun the recovery of democracy."

Kenney's message came just before the Supreme Court's landmark Vriend v. Alberta decision, a case brought forward after a college instructor was fired from his job after his employer learned he was gay - the case led to the protection of "sexual orientation" by the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

I hate to say it but the majority of the country is not going to die on the hill of trans rights. We can’t protect ANY groups if we can’t win a national election, so purity tests only serve to make specific groups feel triumphant. That’s not “erasing” them; it’s long-horizon strategy.

US farmers are being bailed out by the same government that decimated their international trade in the first place, and nobody saw this coming? The US *already has* one of the most heavily subsidised ag sectors in the world. Nobody cares about ag until huge landowners can’t pay taxes.

I remember when Brad Wall used to trot out cost benefit analysis in the first few years of his government when they were actually kind of transparent.

Cost benefit disappeared before the 2nd term when tranparency got in the way of the siphoning of public funds to single source donor contracts.
