Today has been a good day 😀
Today 507001 visited the Litchurch Lane test track again. This time carrying guests from ALSTOM as part of a celebration of the success of The Greatest Gathering.

We’ll have more to share in the coming days. In the meantime, enjoy this noisy departure 😁

“Regulated fares” is a meaningless term these days. DfT-controlled LNER removed the regulated off-peak fare for many journeys and now effectively charges what it likes, pushing fares up.
The Chancellor has announced that regulated rail fares will be frozen next year. A huge win for passengers and the economy, and one of our Budget asks!

On Tuesday, the classic whine of 507 traction motors was heard once more, as 507001 moved under its own power on the ALSTOM test track at Litchurch Lane for the first time. Watch the video of this special moment here: youtu.be/elfYWV8VoIs

I didn’t get a photo of me doing this, but I did greatly enjoy going up and down the train setting off all the alarms marked with “penalty for improper use” signs 😈
We are determined to keep 507001 in good condition. With that goal in mind, a small group visited Litchurch Lane on Sunday to carry out testing on various systems, including brakes, speedometers and the passenger alarms.
