The driving force in how conservatives talk about pop culture is never actually about anything related to the actual material in the art. To them art is purely symbols and identifiers. A means of repeating and spreading their beliefs in a way thats digestible to the world around them.
This still just blows my mind that there are ANY people out there like this— never mind people willing to go on television IN FRONT OF GOD AND EVERYBODY and say so.
